Even Here, Among the Dust and Hay, God Speaks.
This morning, before the sun stretched over the hayfields, I laced up my boots and stepped into the quiet of the barn. You know that stillness — the kind where the only sound is the soft shuffle of horses and the rhythm of your own breath?
It’s where I feel closest to the Lord.
Between feeding the animals and hauling water buckets, I felt my own heaviness trying to creep in — memories of mistakes, whispers of not-enough, the weight of yesterday. But then I heard it.
Not audibly, but clear as daylight in my spirit:
“You don’t have to carry it all. Just walk with Me.”
Right there, leaning against a stall door with hay in my hair and dust on my jeans, I let the tears fall.
Because we don’t have to wait until we feel polished or perfect to show up. We don’t have to have the house quiet or the kids happy or the marriage fixed or the plan figured out.
We just have to show up. And say yes.
So today, I’m inviting you — from my ranch to wherever you are — to show up. Show up for the little whisper in your heart. Show up for the work in front of you. Show up for your healing.
Even if your boots are muddy. Even if your hands are shaky. Even if you don’t know what the next step is yet.
God meets us in the middle of the mess every single time.
If you’re ready to take that step — if you’re tired of carrying it all alone and you’re hungry for peace and purpose — I’d love to walk beside you.
With love from the barn,
Nikki
